Obaino,Tinubu and others win the SUN AWARD


Senator Tinubu who is the leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, was named the Sun Man of the Year, having contributed a lot to the victory of his political party in the 2015 General election, defeating the Peoples Democratic Party that had ruled for 16 years.
He thanked the organisers of the awards, the Sun Newspaper.
Governor Obiano was named the Sun Governor of the Year at an event held in Lagos State to honour all winners.
After the award, the Governor said he was happy to have been named ‘the Sun Governor of the Year’.
“I am dedicating the award to the ordinary citizens of Anambra State. The daily road sweepers, the zero porthole guys that maintain our roads, the investors that heeded our call to come and invest in Anambra, the farmers that are working hard to put us on the map and more importantly the security outfits that have today made Anambra the safest state in Nigeria,” Governor Obiano stated.
He said that the award was a push that would make him put more efforts to the service of Anambra citizens.
“By God’s grace I am not going to disappoint them,” the Anambra State Governor stressed.
Since his swearing in Governor Obiano has vigorously worked to actualise his vision through his four pillars of development, aggressive merchandise agriculture, oil and gas, Trade and Commerce and industralisation.
Born in Aguleri, a town in Anambra State, Eastern Nigeria, he received a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy from the University of Lagos in 1979 and a Master of Business Administration from the same university.
The Sun Awards for 2015 also saw some persons in different sectors of the Nigerian economy emerge as awardees.
